REPORT: WWE Considering New Ring Name For Piper Niven
Hot off of her WWE Main Roster debut, Piper Niven seems to be aligned with WWE’s resident heat magnet – Eva Marie. However, there is something about Niven that may not carry over from her brief stint in NXT UK.
According to Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful.com, reports state that pitches were made to change Niven’s ring name entirely. With the Raw commentary team pretending as if they had no idea who she was, it seems as though there could be some truth to the aforementioned claims.
The names claimed to have been pitched by WWE officials include “Dewdrop” and/or “Doudrop.”
The internet wrestling community has not taken too kindly to the reports of a gimmick change for Niven. During her time in NXT UK, she has grown to become one of the most enjoyable UK women’s wrestlers to watch. Would a name change sour die-hard fans on Niven’s main roster call-up? We will have to wait and see.
